(Weston Grove Old Weston)
When I started clearing out Weston Grove following the death of my cousin Betty Eborall I found in the loft the sign pictured here.
Betty and Charles moved into the village in the early 70's as they had bought a laundrette in Huntingdon and I presume this used to hang in the window prior to decimalisation (15 February 1971) - the charges do seem cheap now don't they?
Betty & Charles used to visit my mother and I (subsequently my wife and I) each Christmas, and I remember them receiving a phone call in the middle of Christmas Lunch that a man's clothing was stuck in a machine and poor old Charles had to return to release it !
I am loath to throw away the sign but what do I do with it now?
