The Old Weston Village HallThe village hall, along with The Swan public house next door, form the hub of our village community.Indeed, the villagers built the hall in 1962, after the Beeby family generously donated the land to the village for the hall, car park and surrounding area. The hall is managed by a committee who organize fund-raising events, oversee the maintenance, and its letting. The hall is regularly hired out for a wide variety of activities - from keep-fit to children's birthday parties and dog-training sessions. Annually the NOWTS (New Old Weston Thespian Society) use it to stage the pantomime. We also try to organize various events in the hall with the aim of getting together as many people from the village as possible. Such functions have included a ‘Strictly Come Dancing evening with professional coaching, a casino night, murder mystery night with dinner, a night at the races, quizzes and hog-roasts. The church also uses the hall to host their popular all day breakfasts. The hall has a capacity for 100 people seated or 120 standing. Its facilities include a large hall with raised stage, kitchen with newly installed double range oven, and toilet facilities. Over the last few years the committee have also worked hard to raise funds to use to develop the land to the rear of the hall into a children's play area and further car parking space. The hall is available to hire at very reasonable rates (£6.50 per hour before 5.00pm; £10 per hour after 5.00pm). If you would like to book the village hall please fill in the form below or call 01832 293457. We are extremely fortunate to have this village facility and we have lots of ideas on how to improve it in the future - all we need is the continued support of the village.
