Old Weston Farmer Celebrates 90th birthday

Frank Langley of Home Farm, Old Weston, celebrated his 90th birthday on Saturday the 11th of February by entertaining family and friends to tea at the farm.

Frank moved to the village with his family when he was 12 years old. After leaving school he started his farming career and is still a partner in the family farming business. His late wife, Marg, was a great help and support to him, both on the farm and in his many other roles. These included running the village Methodist Chapel, being a long serving member of the Parish Council, helping to establish and then support the Village Hall and the Youth Club and serving as a Special Constable. He is also a Trustee on the Parson's Latham Hospital Trust where he is responsible for helping local people to acquire housing in Almshouses in Barnwell.

Although Frank has recently moved to Ellington, he frequently visits his home in the village and is still very interested and involved in village life.
