Ann Read, is a very special type of person.
In 2005-6, Ann spent a year working in a voluntary capacity with families affected by HIV/Aids in South Africa.
Ann was a Macmillan nurse before retiring in September 2009, but not for long! She is planning another year long trip, this time to Guyana to work in palliative care; again, totally self-funded, she is planning to go in a few weeks’ time.
As Ann is a very dear friend of ours, she has been a frequent visitor to Old Weston and supported many events in the village over the past 16 years, and is known to many people in the village.
On hearing about Ann’s plans recently, one of the residents of Old Weston suggested that perhaps some people from the village who know her might want to sponsor her.
