This section of the site outlines the various Parish Council Activities that are current and ongoing.
In recent times we have persuaded the district council to provide off-road parking which has generally improved the centre of the village. We have succeeded in pressing through the traffic calming measures and most recently through dogged determination over decades finally managed to get the village connected to a mains drainage system obviating the need for septic tanks.
After a recent survey residents overwhelmingly voted against the purchase of a bus shelter, most felt the bus stop would be under utilised. The parish council erect signs, notices and send flyers throughout the village regarding dog fowling and regularly monitor the situation.
Councillors attend RAF base liaison meetings to keep abreast of upcoming issues or projects that may affect the village.
Alongside the church council the parish council help maintain the churchyard, funding the grass cutting each year.

Amongst the Parish Council Activities is the Village Spring Clean, held in conjunction with Huntingdonshire District Council, we are pleased to say a very willing party turns out every year with gloves, sacks and litter pickers at the ready, to keep our village clean and tidy, its surprising what turns up in the hedgerows of our village! A swift half and light refreshments is enjoyed by all who take part after as reward for their efforts.
Sunday 29th March 2009 At 11.am Once a year we designate a day to have a good spring clean, picking up all the litter, cans, and junk left lying around, in and along our village roads and hedgerows. Please come along and help keep YOUR village tidy.We meet at the Swan car park at 11.am for approx 1-2 hours. Refreshments will be served in the swan, sandwiches and soft drinks or a swift half! For those involved.
Black sacks and litter pickers will be provided, please bring your own gardening style gloves if possible. As we clean right to the outskirts of the village if you have a utility vehicle and/or trailer to assist with moving people and rubbish around this would be most helpful.
Organised by Old Weston Parish Council as part of Cambridgeshire Spring Cleaning Campaign.
The following photograph shows just how much rubbish gets collected!
